Hopefully, I can clear a few things up.
Judaism is the root of both Christianity and Catholicism. Their origins go back to Abraham, a nomadic patriarch, and his son Isaac. Without getting into deep history, suffice it to say that their claims to the land of what is now Israel, their ongoing strife with the Arab nations around them, and their deeply felt sense of nationality based on their heritage descends from this point in their history. Isaac is the key to their history.
What's commonly referred to as "Christianity" -- more accurately known as Protestantism -- is rooted in Catholicism. The main difference is the Protestant belief that we gain a closer relationship with God by his grace alone and not our own efforts. Martin Luther (not King, Jr.) is the key figure in their history.
Catholicism primarily finds it's origins in the New Testament. They hold that Peter, one of Jesus' disciples, was the first Pope and the church simply grew from there. They also tend to profess that a certain amount of effort and personal responsibility will garner greater favor with God. They sometimes also practice praying to saints and Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Islam is more an offshoot of ancient Hebrew culture than a descendant of any particular religion. It finds it's roots in the Hebrew patriarch, Abraham. They believe that it was Ishmael, Abraham's first son from a slave girl, that was favored over Isaac, the son of Abraham's wife, Sarah. Their prophet Mohammed is the primary figure in their history having written their holy book, the Koran.
These are the main monotheistic (belief in one god) religions of the world although there are variations on each (Jehovah's Witness, Mormons, kaballah philosophies, etc.). Polytheistic (many gods), pantheistic (god is everything/everything is god) and animistic (no "god," but everything has a spirit) religions are too numerous to get into here.
Hope this helps the discussion.

Continuing my discussion then, can you accept that in order to be able to label our general conclusion as absolute truth we must observe/record every specific event, which ultimately leads to that conclusion.
Take this simple example. I say that dragons exist. In order to prove this as an absolute truth I would need to examine every possible location in the known universe for dragons.

Well such a practice is probably at odds with christian doctrine, so I pretty much doubt it.
